Day 14, 15….

Standard

Dear Gia

I’m still doing my meditation, don’t worry, I’m just  not managing to write about it every day.

Yesterday we were “healing the heart” “I am open and ready to give and receive more love than ever before

I like that very much!

Today we are living from love : “As I notice love all  around me. I look for more ways to love.”

I like that too!

The girls, some friends and I went berry picking yesterday. We do this every year and absolutely love it! I got so excited, it is better than any visit to a sweet shop. I have never seen such beautiful red and black currents and in pure abundance. Delightful!

Even more exciting is tasting while you are picking, you need to make sure that the fruit is good 😉 and then to get home and convert all these lovely fruits to jams, cordials and a few left to eat just as they are.

Love Ascot in the summer

and I thought I was super woman

Dear Gia

goodness it has been a while since I have been in touch, sorry my dear, life is so busy, I wish I could have little more time. My dream would be to wake up every morning, without the alarm clock, have a coffee in bed and then settle down to write a few lines to you my dear friend. Dreams are great, but right now it is still a dream.

My day today started nice and slowly, G was out of town so I could have a little of a lye in (is that how you spell lye in?), anyway once the girls were dropped off at school I went to my yoga lesson. Yes, I have started yoga, this was my 4th lesson today. G has been going to lessons for a while now and even though I do Pilates and have been doing this for a while, I have the desperate need to stretch my body. Have I told you this before? I’m sorry, my mind obviously needs some stretching too.

It was a good lesson and I only needed to have a few moments where I had to rest . My aim is to be able to touch my toes, without to much effort and stand on my head. Get those brain cells working.

By the time I arrived back home the spare parts for our kitchen tap had arrived. Our kitchen tap had started to corrode a while back as well as having developed a very annoying leak. G suggested to get a new tap, so started surfing the net. What a choice! Where do you start? It’s not like seeing one in the flesh, but it was a start. I did discover, however that most taps have 3-5 years guarantee which got me thinking that our tap might well be under guarantee too.

I had to choose to find the receipts, we have accumulated a lot of receipts over the last 4 years, or give the company a call. The latter option was the easier one. The service department was great, I explained my dilemma and guess what their solution was? Don’t worry we will send out the part to you asap and will  include fitting instructions.

I was so surprised I had to stop myself from asking: “Are you sure?” I gladly accepted and called G with my good news. He was excited too,  however suggested we get a plumber to do the fitting of the new part. Pah, not me! I’m super woman, I can do anything, and it is comming with fitting instructions!

So I spent the better part of 2 hours, 30 minutes to take the tap apart, and 90 minutes trying to get it back together again. The intricate valve which separates the filtered water from the unfiltered water, finally came apart and in my eagerness to get it back together again broke!!!

So much for super woman! Now what? Phone G? No way! If I would have a tail, it would be firmly between my legs by now. I opted to phone the tap company and a very nice gentleman listened to my, by now, very sad story and suggested he send out a new part in the post today :-)))))) He would also include the brass bit ,which was the part giving me all the trouble, to make the assembly easier. It would be posted first class mail to try and get it to us tomorrow.

Now I could phone G and tell him my story and to his credit he did not say: “I told you so”

We have no running water in the kitchen, thank goodness we have a utility. So now it is holding thumbs that we get the part tomorrow and that I actually manage to do a proper job this time. Thank goodness we are invited for dinner tonight, which means I need to dash.

Hope you are well, have a lovely weekend

Royal Juice

Dear Gia

I have just completed my walk around Virginia Water Lake with weights around my ankles!!!

Why do I listen to G ? I must say it makes me feel like I’m as light as a feather, just wish the scales would agree. I know I have been picking a lot,but the pounds are just creeping up and up.

But I have earned my juice, which has the following ingredients today:

1 apple

1 orange

1 celery stick

1 carrot

piece of ginger

delicious and fit for any royal, at which point I would like to introduce you to M’s golden jubilee hat.

Hope you are having a good day

Friday Juice

Dear Gia

oh yes another lovely day today.

It started with me going to my first yoga session. G has been going for a while now and has been urging me to go too. I have been going to Pilates classes for about 2 years now, but I still cannot touch my toes nor can I stand on my head. My core muscles have definitely improved and I do feel a difference in the strength of  my back, but it is the flexibility which I really would like to improve on.

So off I went this morning , the session was 1 hour 30 minutes. It reminded me a little of when I first started an aerobic class way back when, everybody was moving to the right and I was moving to the left.  As I noticed this, I moved to the right too and everybody started moving to the left. Boy, saluting the sun and pretending to be a dog is not as easy as it sounds, nor looks. Nevertheless it felt good and I even worked up a sweat. I will be going back as often as I can, but as we start our school holidays next week, it will have to wait till then.

As I had invited some friends for  lunch I decided to make another juice, today it was a juice to help with fatigue, I needed this one after my work out.

You need to juice

1 orange

1 apple

1/2 beetroot

1 celery stick

a hand full of kale

delicious and refreshing too. We had a lovely lunch and I enjoyed just looking at the sun

A and I are off to Cheltenham tomorrow morning to celebrate an old friends 80th birthday. We will be having a high tea in a lovely cheltenham Hotel and will dress up for the occasion too.

M and G are staying in Ascot to go and watch the PGA Golf championship in Wentworth, which is just down the road from us.

Here is to a great weeekend for all of us

Ela’s letters from Ascot

Dear Gia, 02.05.2012

I so wish the day would give me another 24 hours, there is so much I would like to do, but I don’t have the time to do it in.

What am I doing wrong?

I went to a delightful little card shop today to buy a birthday card for a friend and they had all these little temptations at the till, one of them being little wish token. They are stainless steel pebbles with messages on them. Love, Happiness, Joy, Success etc. I decided to jumble them all up and closed my eyes and picked one. Guess what it says? SUCCESS I love it!!! I’m so excited about my future, I can’t wait for it all to happen. I also don’t want to wish my time away, as I do value every minute of it, except when I have to do the ironing……….

Right now I’m enjoying a chilled glass of Boschendal Sauvignon Blanc, love it.

M brought a smile to my face today. A gallery has opened in our village which M noticed as we drove by. It used to be a store with great little and large bits for the home. M said: it was a lovely store before, they only problem was that it was crammed full of things and all of them were breakable. I presume she has a point.

On that note I will say goodnight

lots of love
